On the floor

Four things happen to a job between the file and the box.

Most print problems are not printing problems. They are finishing problems, or die-line problems, or a substrate that was never going to take the adhesive. Having all four steps under one roof is how they get caught early.

Print

Multicolour offset

Process CMYK plus spot colours, printed on paper, board and film. Colour is signed off against a proof before the run, not argued about after it.

Finish

Lamination, foil, UV

Gloss and matt lamination, spot UV, foil stamping, embossing and debossing — the treatments that decide whether a piece feels cheap or considered.

Cut

Die-cutting & creasing

Custom dies cut to your die-line, creased so cartons fold square, and labels die-cut to shape in roll or sheet form.

Bind

Numbering & binding

Sequential numbering, perforation, padding and binding for bill books, receipt books, catalogues and company literature.

Industries served

Nine sectors, each with its own idea of what “good enough” means.

A cosmetics label and a chemical drum label are both labels. Almost nothing else about them is the same — the substrate, the adhesive and the finish all change with where the product ends up.

Food & Beverage

Labels that hold up to cold storage and condensation, and cartons that survive the trip to the shelf.

Pharmaceuticals

Small-format labels and mono cartons where batch, expiry and dosage have to stay legible.

Cosmetics

Metallised and transparent labels, foil and spot UV — the finish is most of the product.

Garments & Textiles

Brand tags, size and care tags, punched and strung ready for the floor.

Electrical & Electronics

Rating plates, serial and warranty labels on stocks that resist heat and handling.

Automotive

Part and batch labels for components, on adhesive that holds through oil and vibration.

FMCG

High-volume label and carton runs where colour has to match across every reprint.

Chemical Industry

Hazard, handling and content labels on substrates that stand up to solvent and abrasion.

Retail & E-commerce

Price and barcode labels, shipper marking and the printed inserts that go in the box.

30+ years on the same floor

The business

A family printing business, still run from the same floor.

Balaji Arts has been printing for over three decades from the same workshop in Malad West, Mumbai. When you call about a job, you are talking to the person who will be standing at the press when it runs.

That is the whole proposition, and it is not a small one. It means colour gets checked against the proof by someone who has been reading ink density by eye for three decades. It means a die-line problem gets caught before plates are made, not after. And it means the answer to “can you do this?” is a straight one.

A size and a quantity is enough to start. A photograph of the piece you want matched is even better — most enquiries reach us on WhatsApp that way.
